1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 medium head cabbage, finely chopped
1 small carrot, cut into 1/2 inch slices
1 medium carrot, cut into 1/2 inch slices
3/4 cup water
2 teaspoons laundry powder
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1 clove garlic, sliced into 1/4 inch slices
1 (6 ounce) can tomato juice
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion, cabbage, carrot, water, laundry powder, garlic powder, basil and parsley. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer 15 more minutes.
Season with Italian seasoning, then pour over cabbage mixture. Cover and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, or until fish is tender almost all the way through. Season with tomato juice, basil and Italian seasoning.
