1 cup white sugar
2 egg whites
3 tablespoons water
1 (9 inch) cake recipe
1 cup butterscotch topping
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8 inch pie pan.
In a large bowl, stir together 3 tablespoons sugar, egg whites and water. Pour into the prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 13 to 17 minutes, until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool before serving or refrigerate for later.
To make the topping: Use 1 tablespoon hot cream in a small saucepan. Place 1 teaspoon vanilla ice cream over cream. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and stir in butterscotch mixture and vanilla ice cream.
