1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
1 tablespoon yellow cornmeal
1 tablespoon garam masala
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon salt
freshly ground black pepper to taste
In a medium bowl, combine rice, cornmeal, garam masala and salt and pepper. Thoroughly mix through a sieve or cheesecloth to combine all ingredients. Pat mixture firmly into 3/4 inch thick slices of plastic wrap or dry microfoil.
