Baked Alaska Puffs Recipe

Ingredients

4 slices butter, melted

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup milk

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon packed brown sugar

1 cup milk chocolate syrup

1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup butter, softened

1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/8 teaspoon salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the flour, then beat in the milk, 1/4 cup at a time. Mix in the brown sugar, salt, chocolate syrup, cocoa powder and butter. Mix in the flour mixture alternately with the milk and brown sugar mixture, mixing just until incorporated.

Spread puff dough evenly over the butter mixture.

Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool briefly before removing from pan.

Meanwhile, cream together 1/2 cup butter and 1 1/2 cup brown sugar. Beat in the flour mixture, then stir in the chocolate syrup, cocoa powder and 1/4 cup butter mixture. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the brown sugar and 1/2 cup flour mixture, mixing just until incorporated.

Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan before removing from the pan. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
