2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 1/2 cups uncut cod liver oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons white sugar
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over low heat. Add the cod liver oil, salt, sugar and salt; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover gently and simmer 1 minute.
Add any remaining ingredients to skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
Stir again. Pour mixture over cod liver oil; cook 10 minutes more. Turn off heat and stir in apple cider or citrus juice and sugar. Let cool.
