Carmel Cornbread Recipe


1 1/2 cups water

2 teaspoons vegetable oil

1 1/2 teaspoons paprika

1/8 cup brown sugar


After cooking for several minutes in oil, place in a small saucepan with enough water to cover bottom. Bring water and oil to a boil.

However, do not allow molten oil to cook. Remove from heat and stir in paprika, brown sugar, and sugar. Pour mixture over cooked bread and vegetables. Serve warm or cold.

It is the BEST comfort food my whole family has ever had! I added mushrooms and other veggies. I used flour and yeast to make breadcrumbs. I didn't have to bake much longer than stated, only about 15-20 min. I will make this over and over. It was very delicious. My husband loved it, and the kids thought it was a little too sweet. Maybe if I add more flour/water/eggs next time. I didn't have much of a problem with the end result, other than the fact that I made a slightly thicker dough. I only gave it a 4 because the finished product was a bit too bread-like. I won't be making this over and over.
