8 slices butter
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup nonfat milk
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup water
In a medium bowl, mix butter, brown sugar and milk. Mix lightly then stir in lemon juice and water.
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Fry the littleneck bread slices 1 to 2 minutes on each side, using a small amount of the lemon juice to cover each bread slice.
