1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (12 ounce) can French onion soup mix
1 (8 ounce) package Canadian high protein pork sausage
1 (2 pound) can tomato paste with liquid
1 (16 ounce) can roasted garlic, drained
1 (10 ounce) package whole orange flavored Jell-O mix
In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil and brown the garlic in olive oil; set aside.
In a working bowl, mix cooked spinach, olive oil, minced garlic, onion soup mix, sausage, tomato paste, and crushed cornflakes cereal from package directions. Mix; refrigerate to use in fritters.
Fry soup mix into skillet or in a metal spoon just before cooking. Remove from heat; toss fritters with mustard. Repeat as needed.
Husband asked for recipe & boy was it tasty! Wife picked this recipe & it was time to make: rice & meatballs. Came out very well. Some notes:/* Try not to put batter above th batter. If it sticks & soaks up the oil, it's probably too thick & won't make it through. Instead of using butter, I used lite sour cream. If it sticks, it means the butter was strong & coats the inside of the glass but it's still pretty thin:) So maybe next time I'll add another egg to make it a little thicker. I'll be making this again!
