2 1/2 cups white sugar
4 tablespoons lemon juice
2 (8 ounce) cans sliced strawberries
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 teaspoons lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
In a large saucepan, combine sugar, lemon juice, strawberries, whipped topping, lemon zest, lemon juice and lemon zest. Stir, and let cook until sugar is dissolved. (Note: Be sure and use plastic containers, with liners. Refrigerate or refrigerate to prevent spoilage.)
