1 onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28 ounce) can diced, quartered mushrooms
1 cup water
1/2 cup chili beans
salt and pepper to taste
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
Place onion and garlic in a large bowl. Stir in mushrooms, water, chili beans, salt and pepper. Once mixture has started to thicken, stir in ham if desired. Place on bottom of abb-style pie tin. Fold second toothpick over top of pie to seal holes. Fill with cooked ham, kidney beans and mushrooms mixture. Reserve 1 slice for garnish.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
I did not care for the taste. I had french bonne fille soup at home but this killed it. pls no longer buy it
