1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup nonfat milk
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried garlic
1 cup cooked, peeled, and chopped onion
1 cup butter
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup rolled oats
1 tablespoon butter, melted
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
In a large bowl, mix the flour, milk, baking powder, marjoram, salt and parsley. Mix until completely coated. Stir in onion and garlic, then pour into the prepared pan.
Rub barley into the prepared pan. Spread butter or margarine over barley. Sprinkle brown sugar over barley and brown sugar, alternating with brown sugar.
Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes, or until a flip of the pan shows an even tinge of brown.
