4 tablespoons butter, softened
4 tablespoons cornstarch
4 teaspoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons chili powder
4 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
2 cups packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons corn syrup
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Mix together butter and cornstarch, stirring occasionally. Add lemon juice and chili powder; mix well. Pour butter mixture into foil-lined 6-inch-square baking pan. Bake in preheated oven for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove foil and bake for 5 minutes more. Cool slightly.
Place brown sugar, corn syrup and lemon zest in blender. Blend thoroughly. Spread over cooled crust. Bake uncovered for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
