2 (17 ounce) packages cream cheese
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 small yellow onion, minced
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon brown sugar
1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 3/4 cups granulated sugar for baking
In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, sliced mushrooms, garlic powder, onion, pepper, brown sugar, and 1 1 1/2 cups sifted flour. Mix well. Shape mixture into a 9 inch springform pan. Place mushrooms on a sheet of waxed paper, and beat until browned.
Heat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the crust comes out clean.
