Rich Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients

3 eggs, lightly beaten

1 cup chopped chocolate pieces

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

3 1/2 cups white sugar

1 (3 ounce) package instant French vanilla pudding mix

3/4 cup vegetable oil

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup milk

1 cup chopped pecans

1 (10 ounce) package frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) round pans.

Prepare the cake by mixing eggs, chocolate pieces and baking powder. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together cream cheese and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the pudding mix, oil, brown sugar, milk and pecans. Stir in the pudding and oil mixture until well blended. Fold in whipped topping. Spread batter into prepared pans 8 inches apart.

Arrange layers in pan. Bake in the preheated oven 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
