El Paso Chili Recipe

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 onion, quartered

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 1/2 tablespoons dried oregano

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 tablespoon dried basil

2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans, drained

2 tablespoons canned tomato paste

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

Directions

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain grease.

Add olive oil, onion, garlic, oregano, chili powder, basil, and beans. Stir together, allow to simmer.

Return meat to skillet and heat through. Stir in tomato paste, oregano, basil, onion powder, and basil. Bring to a slow simmer. Serve over rice, vegetables, pasta or beans.

I added fresh garlic cheddar chunks to the batter. Also sprinkled them with parmesean, oregano, pepper and a tiny bit of garlic powder (hubby loved garlic). Loved it!!
