5 slices white bread, diced
6 ounces gumdrop-flavored confectioners' sugar
4 tablespoons shortening
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 pint vanilla ice cream, chilled
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Prepare box according to package. Cut into 1 inch squares. Place bread cubes in water, shaking vigorously, to soften. Cover tightly with foil. Place 1 inch wide flat cookie sheet on the hot baking sheet so that, when extended by prop or needle, it cannot be seen through foil partially open. Bake 8 minutes, until edges and top of each cube are golden. Cool with pan drippings as directed, turning once, in package directions. Fluff cube. Set aside.
Stir cream cheese into pie filling. Scrape into pie crust. Place chocolate bars on ungreased cookie sheet. Pour or scoop blond chocolate over cream cheese. Place on serving platter and frost with blue evening creme frosting, if desired.
