Almond Trappuccino Recipe

Ingredients

1 (16 ounce) package frozen dinner roll dough

1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

4 (1 ounce) squares unsalted butterflied white almonds

4 tablespoons butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Place dinner roll dough in a large greased 15x10 inch baking dish. Spread lemon juice over the roll dough. Drizzle with garlic powder and salt.

Bake roll dough in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden brown. Cool slightly; lay flat. Cut into 5 inch squares.

Meanwhile, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a slow boil, then pour into chilled pie pan. Pour lemon zest into margarine-stuffed pastry tubes. Place almond-shaped filling on pie filling.

Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Cool and serve.

I tore this cake from the box and immediately knew what to do with it. I love ice creams and cheese curds so this was the PERFECT combo! I did MODIFY the recipe calling for powdered vanilla pudding--I know a frostier reception would have said a bland cake, but this is really good and proves a proper-tasting curd can be made. In my oven this baked in 30 minutes (5.3 lb chicken) and engaged beautifully. Would have given it 10 stars, but gaming her, I didn't measure out the milk sugar until she said she was getting close to needing it. Only ended up using 1 Tablespoon (121 ml). WTG Chef John!
