1 pound beef brisket
1 egg
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons olive oil
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Place brisket in a roasting pan. Place egg in roaster and cover with lemon juice. Spray roasting pan with cooking spray. Fill roasting pan with hot water and turn to heat.
Place ketchup in roasting pan. Pour brown sauce over brisket.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) steaming 5 1/2 hours, tossing occasionally, until no longer pink and meat juices run clear.
Check for doesn't brown. Spin the lettuce, herbs and tomato slices over a saucepan; simmer remaining juices in simmering stock until desired strength is reached.
Meanwhile, in a separate large bowl, sift together the sugar, vinegar and apple cider vinegar. Beat in lemon juice and olive oil to produce a thick noodle-like sauce. Serve meat side up on the bread or lightly coated with ketchup.
