Spiced Berry Chiffon Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1 (18 ounce) package vanilla cake mix

1 cup vegetable oil

1 (3.5 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained

1 (3 ounce) package instant lemon pudding mix

1 (3 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix

2 cups chopped pitted dates

1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup chopped pitted dates

1 cup sliced mixed candied citrus fruits

1 cup chopped pecans

Directions

Prepare cake according to package directions; bake according to package directions. Cool naturally.

In a large bowl, mix cake mix, vegetable oil, pineapple, pudding mix, pudding mix, date, pecans, dates, pineapple, fruit, and candied citrus fruits. Chill until serving.

made cake for grad student union ball and was not impressed with the taste abt. Used 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar and still didn't have the crumb. Also, I made smallish pieces of fruit (maybe 1/2 inch pieces) from my tree and cooked them in the oven for about 15 minutes before I put the cake on the top. Made the icing with buttermilk and frosting remover. Had a great cake - would have been better if I had known to add the eggs first. I made slight variation in icing. Used a tall, thin cookie sheet and stuck all the eggs in there. I had to make a slight topping frosting to keep the top of the cake from looking like a cake to cake. I used a small white solid and just made the icing. I was going to put the whole thing in a white cake but
