1 (28 ounce) can whole shell oysters, drained
12 slices bacon
1 (16 ounce) can whole milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
4 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place oysters in a shallow dish in the bottom of a medium baking dish.
Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
Drip butter into pan and add to skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until butter is melted, about 5 minutes. Add brown sugar, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened. Add oysters, bacon, milk, butter mixture and brown sugar and stir gently to coat.
Layer oysters on top of bacon and brown sugar mixture and sprinkle with butter mixture.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until oysters are golden brown.
