1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried sage
1/4 teaspoon dried dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons dried sage
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a small bowl, blend ground beef, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, garlic powder, basil, oregano, sage and thyme. Mix together in a large bowl. Spread mixture into the prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until a large thermometer reads 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
Remove pan from oven and leave meat loaf in pan for 30 minutes to allow meat to brown. Remove meat loaf and place in a large bowl. Divide into three portions. Layer meat this time with the tomato sauce. Top with the bread crumbs and marinade. Place meat loaf on a wooden platter.
In a small bowl, mix the basil, oregano, sage and thyme. Coat meat loaf with marinade. Roll up and refrigerate for a few hours.
