1 1/2 cups water
1 onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
4 tablespoons brown sugar
5 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
3 tablespoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons butter
3 eggs
In a small saucepan, warm water to the boiling point. Remove from heat. Stir in onion, brown sugar, lemon juice and vinegar, then reduce heat to low and allow to cool.
In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar and lemon juice until light and fluffy. Mix together lemon juice, brown sugar mixture, white vinegar and lemon juice. Spoon mixture into bread slices.
Place slices of bread on a serving platter and sprinkle with the brown sugar butter mixture and lemon juice mixture. Continue to drizzle mixture over bread slices throughout the day.
