Black Mint Chocolate Bar Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter

2 tablespoons white sugar

1 cup black lard

6 egg yolks

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 pinch salt

1/2 cup chocolate syrup

1 cup chopped pecans

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the flour, baking soda and baking powder. Combine the lard and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in chocolate syrup and pecans. Dip each bar into the chocolate mixture. Roll the bars in the remaining butter mixture, then sprinkle with chocolate syrup.

Bake in to square in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until lightly browned and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
