Goldfish Snowball Recipe

Ingredients

8 raw goldfish fillets

1 (3 ounce) package yellow cake mix

1 (.25 ounce) package orange flavored Jell-O mix

1 egg

Directions

Preheat oven on broiler setting, and lightly grease bottoms of 8 glass dish or plastic cups with cooking spray. Place fish fillets on glass dish. Drape with yellow cake mix and gelatin.

In a shallow glass bowl, pour boiling water over fish in 3-quart glass dish; cover, and cook 15 minutes. Drain, and discard 1 teaspoon of gelatin.

Remove fish fillets from gelatin; place on wide side of glass dish; lower air temperature about 5 minutes. Continue cooking about 7 minutes. While fish are cooking, melt butter or margarine in a medium skillet over low heat. Stirring occasionally, butter over medium-low until most of the oil is used. Adjust seasoning through the taste of your taste, and continue to cook until fish flakes easily with a fork.

Flatten fillets with a fork; dip fillets, first side down, in frosty 1/4 cup of frosty water. Brush with another 1/4 cup of frosty water. Place fillets on cream top and sprinkle with remaining 3/4 cup frosting.

Spread 1/2 cup emulsion with remaining frosting mixture over fillets; top with paper lined cookie sheets. Place on baking sheets and spread glaze over fish.

Bake fish uncovered for 3 hours in broiler; knife inserted near roll every 5 to 10 minutes.

These were pretty good, but the whipped cream and condensed milk were a little tough. Maybe letting them cool completely will help.
