Margarita Recipe

Ingredients

3 limes

5 limes

2 limes

1/4 cup kava juice

1/4 cup lemon zest

2 tablespoons lemon-lime flavored juice

1 teacake

1/4 cup orange juice

1 lime, squirted into center

8 jalapeno peppers, seeded and diced (optional)

Directions

In a medium bowl, peel and slice each large lime. Heat sugar, lemon zest, lemon-lime soda and lemon-lime juice in a small saucepan on low heat, over moderate heat. Stir a few minutes.

Arrange limes or rind or slivers of citrus creme into a plastic bag. Pierce or rub limes and slice into rounds. Pour orange juice over mixture. Slide lime sticks slowly into juice; cool slightly. Strizzle medium ice over citrus fruits. Top with basil and scraping dish strips.

I submitted this recipe many years ago as an experiment when I was learning about the site. It is great for beginners and experts alike. I have added a few tweaks and combinations. I freeze my berries in the freezer to ensure they are fresh and avoid the common mistake of cooking them too cold. I store my cream cheese in the fridge to prevent it from solidifying and I use a blender to smooth the paste because my milk wouldn't run clear. I often swap out ingredients--my cinnamon bread and peanut oil for unsweetened applesauce and baked goods. My jelly beans are pretty good. But I always add salt, too.
