Spicy Cornbread Recipe

Ingredients

4 eggs

3 1/2 cups cornbread flour

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

2 teaspoons baking soda

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 1/4 teaspoons garlic powder

2 teaspoons dried onion, crushed

1 1/2 teaspoons dried green bell pepper

3 green onions, chopped

1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 cups vegetable oil

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

3 cups hot water

1/2 cup white sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup chopped yellow onion

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch loaf pan.

In a small bowl, stir together eggs, cornbread flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, garlic powder, onion, bell pepper, green onions, rosemary, basil, oregano, thyme and pepper.

Pour the cornbread mixture into the prepared pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the top of the loaf springs back when touched but does not brown.
