1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup white sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup white sugar for decoration
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Drizzle the syrup over all of the cookie sheet surfaces and spread evenly.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
