1 1/2 cups dried currants
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon lemon juice
In a large bowl, mix currants and brown sugar. Simmer over low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Remove currants from mixture and discard the brown sugar.
Stir brown sugar mixture into currants mixture. Mix thoroughly and serve chilled.
