Ham with Almonds and Cheese Prepared Mincemeat Recipe

Ingredients

1 pound ham, cut into 1 inch pieces

1/2 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

salt to taste

Directions

Melt butter in a mixing bowl. Stir together flour, baking powder and baking soda, set aside.

Place ham pieces in a 9x13 inch dish. Place onion slices and brown sugar over bouillon cube mixture. Add 2 tablespoons of nutmeg, salt and remaining nutmeg. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

This is a fast, easy and delicious way to use up leftover spiced ham. Heat a second half of the butter in a mixing bowl over medium heat. Stir together brown sugar and 2 tablespoons chopped onion; spread over bouillon cubes. Divide baking cubes between the pan of 6 and 8 slices of ham; sprinkle with remaining 1 tablespoon chopped onion. Cover with pan, and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).

Dissolve salt in 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Add to cheese and pour mixture over chicken. Place pan in preheated oven and bake uncovered for 40 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear.

Thoroughly mix baking cubes, Parmesan cheese, crushed tomatoes with egg and salt. Set aside to cool slightly.

After about 20 minutes, stir together minced ham, onion and brown sugar. Remove from oven, brush with melted butter. Pour over chicken. Place lid back on oven and broil for 45 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes. Arrange chicken pieces over top of chicken; broil for another 20 minutes, covered.
