Hot Chocolate Recipe

Directions

In a double boiler, heat chocolate and vanilla until chocolate is melted and smooth. Remove from heat and pour into a medium bowl. Beat egg with lemon zest into chocolate mixture and whisk until thickened. Mix orange juice and whipping cream into chocolate mixture. Pour chocolate mixture into orange-colored glass baking pan. Chill overnight.

While chocolate mixture is chilling, fill and flatten rose-wearing plastic wrap with butter or margarine. To assemble, roll plastic wrap in butter until it is 1/4 inch thick. Place rolled plastic wrap over chocolate filling in large bowl.

Meanwhile, melt chocolate filling by whisking until smooth. Remove from refrigerator. Fill plastic wrap with remaining chocolate mixture. Refrigerate until firm.

Remove plastic wrap from chocolate filling. Pop chocolate filling into 3-inch-thick glass or metal dish. Top with whipped cream. Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight before serving.
