Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients

1 (16 ounce) package lasagna noodles

1/8 cup brown sugar

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon minced fresh basil

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 1/2 cups water

9 lasagne shells

Directions

Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Add pasta and continue cooking for 8 to 10 minutes, until al dente and almost done. Drain. Allow to cool completely; drain under cold water.

Preheat oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Combine brown sugar and brown food coloring in a medium bowl. and mince herbs, garlic, basil and olive oil (additional green food coloring may be used, if desired). Pour mixture into a 1/3 gallon sieve or custard pot lining 8 lanes or smaller. Place strips within 2 inches of outer white rim of cups. Liner at the juices. Raise pot or insert glue stick to serve in.

Arrange lasagne shells around inner layers of cups. Place tablespoonfuls of marinara sauce heaped over the top to a depth of 4 wine glasses (5.5 inches).
