1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups long grain cornmeal
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup golden raisins
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
Place the butter, brown sugar, and cornmeal in a large bowl. Mix well. Stir in baking soda, egg, and flour; mix thoroughly. Pour batter into prepared cookie jar.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a wooden spoon inserted onto the cookie sheet comes out clean. Remove from cookie sheet to cool completely.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix the golden raisins. Drizzle over cookie while still warm.
