3 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate with almonds
2 1/2 cups butter
1 3/4 cups boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 cup milk
In a medium bowl, mix chocolate, almonds, butter, boiling water, vanilla, salt and flour. Mix until well blended. Spread over butter mixture. Chill in refrigerator.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch pan. Combine the sugar and cornstarch. Stir mixture into brown sugar mixture.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely. Roll out frosting. Cut into squares. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
