1/2 cup shortening
1 cup milk (to cream), chilled
1 (8 ounce) can sliced ripe tomatoes, with liquid
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese and flavored cream cheese OR butter flavored gelatin
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon peanut butter
Heat shortening in a small saucepan or shallow pan over medium heat. Remove from heat. Stir in milk and tomato paste. Slowly pour in cream cheese and gelatin until mixture comes to a boil. Beat in whipped topping and brown sugar. Fold in egg and orange zest.
Cook 5 minutes in the slow cooker, stirring occasionally. Pour into a large bowl and refrigerate overnight. Mix 1 to 2 hours before serving.
