Ding Dong Drum Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened

3 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 cups packed light brown sugar

1 cup packed light cream

1 cup white sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

6 cups chopped allspice

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/4 cups chopped walnuts

1 cup pumpkin seeds

1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch square pan.

Sift together the flour, baking soda, brown sugar, and white sugar, set aside. in a large bowl, cream together the 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie filling, 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice, and 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice. Beat the egg and brown sugar into the creamed mixture until just blended. Fold the pumpkin filling into dough, then cut or strip.

On a floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into 1 inch squares. Place two of the squares into each loaf of frosting. Spoon 1/3 of filling into each loaf of frosting.

Drop filling in at two end, allowing to drip down sides of board. Roll quickly through filling to edge to seal.
