Chocolate Scones Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

4 teaspoons baking powder

2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

6 teaspoons baking powder

2 cups milk

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 eggs, beaten

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.

In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder and baking soda; set aside.

In a small saucepan, heat milk and vanilla extract in microwave for 2 minutes.

Sift together flour mixture, eggs, chocolate chips and 2 cups flour mixture into a large bowl. Stir gently until mixture is thickened. Drop 8 tablespoons flour mixture into crepe batter. Mix until blended. Using a 2 or 3 inch round biscuit, press chocolate filling into bottom of baking sheet or shallow cake pan (expect droop).

Bake in preheated oven until top is golden brown, about 15 minutes. Cool slightly on wire rack. Remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely on wire rack.
