Pecan Pie Recipe

Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 tablespoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup butter, softened

2 eggs

3 tablespoons milk

1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup grated orange zest

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/8 teaspoon orange zest

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon orange zest

1/8 teaspoon lemon juice

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.

In a large bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, pepper, 1 cup butter, eggs, milk and brown sugar. Beat well. Mix in the brown sugar, lemon juice and orange zest. Stir in lemon juice. Stir all together. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pie comes out clean. Reduce heat to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and bake an additional 30 minutes.

In a large bowl, stir together the brown sugar, lemon juice and orange zest. Reduce the heat to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and stir in the orange zest. Allow to cool to room temperature.

When the pie has cooled, deglaze the pan with water and set aside to cool completely.

Fold in the orange zest and lemon juice.

Place the pie in the prepared pan, seal edges, and steam approximately 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
