3 (3 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons butter
2 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 tablespoon white sugar for garnish
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Combine cream cheese, butter and brown sugar. Mix thoroughly. Pour cream cheese mixture into crust; refrigerate not long.
Roll out pastry. Cut seam allowance to fit into pie plate. Place halfway up the sides of the pie plate. Place pastry over pie plate. Seal edges halfway up the sides of the pie plate. Place top of pie plate on pie plate, tightly fitting into pie plate. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes or until bubbly. Cool completely. Garnish as desired. Refrigerate a day before serving.
