Medium Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 tablespoon white sugar

1/2 cup shortening for frying

1 egg

1 1/2 cups milk

1/2 cup whole milk

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2/3 cup chopped pecans

1/4 cup chopped almonds

1/2 cup Canadian stand-distilled chocolate

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, soda and sugar. Add shortening and egg and mix until well blended, about 10 minutes. Fold in milk and nuts. Shape dough into 2 balls, place in prepared cookie sheets, and flatten with a fork.

In a small bowl, stir together chocolate chips and melted chocolate. Take a tablespoon or two of chocolate mixture, and roll the mixture into walnut sized balls. Place each ball on the sheet, and flatten with your fingers.

Fry cookies in the preheated oven 10 to 12 minutes, or until set. Remove from heat with a spatula. Wrap cookie with plastic wrap or aluminum foil for extra security.
