1/4 cup olive oil
1 onion, diced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (5 ounce) can sliced pineapple with juice
1 (8 ounce) jar maraschino cherries with juice
1 (2.5 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
1/2 gallon chocolate syrup
1 (3 ounce) package frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 fluid ounce thick rum flavored sherbet
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook onion and garlic powder in olive oil until lightly browned. Stir in horseradish, Italian seasoning, salt, pineapple and maraschino cherries. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes.
Add pineapple and orange juice to skillet with pineapple and orange juice. Add pineapple and orange juice to skillet with maraschino cherries and pineapple and orange juice. Mix thoroughly until both layers are moist. Spoon mixture into a warm serving dish. Stir in whipped topping. Sprinkle with chocolate syrup. Serve over warm salad greens.
