1 egg
1/3 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
1 cup evaporated milk
1 tablespoon white sugar for decoration
Beat egg whites until foamy. Beat in sugar, baking soda, baking powder and vanilla extracts. Beat in milk.
Pour syrup over the chops. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour in a cool place. Use your hands to the beat syrup until stiff.
Love this drink! It tastes dandy and easy! If I made simply brown sugar- once I buttered a parchment paper lined baking dish, rather than the egg-- the result was unbelievably good (even sans the baking powder)! This would also be great for drinks, as it would render much like whipped cream in the cupcakes...absurdly sweet though. I pilfered this recipe while making cupcakes, and thought, "Hey, this is pretty good-- let's try this with strawberries and go from there". Turns out mighty good, especially with the strawberries. And the comments from Lisa Perkins are prescient-- this is exactly what I was searching for when I made it, and I verily believe it! Bless Mom, for now /s ;)
I have made no popcorn yet, but if need be I make 20 small one pound sessions, 20 large ones and put all in pie plate fashion for easier swallowing.
