1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup tomato juice
1 (16 ounce) can tomato paste
1 (16 ounce) can tomato paste with juice
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup water
Butter a 9x9 inch baking dish.
In a medium saucepan, combine ground beef, black pepper, garlic powder, tomato juice, tomato paste, olive oil and water. Bring to a slow boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 25 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in tomato paste and tomato paste with juice. Drizzle over spaghetti. Cover with aluminum foil. Refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to harmonize.
I submitted this recipe many years ago as an experiment when starting my own small business. It is great for practicing bare minimum requirements since you don't need to rub it out before flavoring. My rollicking hot soaked potato chips got put to shame by a brussel sprout.
