3 rubbery white bread cubes
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup milk
3 slices French bread, torn into small strips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 12 9x5 inch loaf pans. Lie bread cubes flat in pan to prevent bubbles from forming. Spread 3 cups of sugar over bread cubes. Using an electric mixer, whip 2 tablespoons of the milk to mix together with sugar mixture. Mix bread cubes in remainder 1 tablespoon sugar. Pour evenly into prepared pans.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Flip bread cubes, place on a sheet of waxed paper to keep warm. Bake and chill until serving.
