Mushroom Ragu Recipe

Ingredients

1 (4.5 ounce) can crushed tomatoes, uncooked

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 cups white wine

1 1/2 cups water

1 cup white sugar for brushing

1/4 cup water

Directions

In large mixing bowl combine tomatoes, cream cheese, sugar, butter, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.

Wash the wine, water, and sugar, pour into the juice and wine. Mix well. Pour over the fruit mixture. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight.

I added fresh garlic cheddar chunks to thicken it up. i also sauteed some fresh rosemary with the garlic and added a tsp of dried dill weed. this is really good. very mild and delicious. will make often.
