1 pound 6-inch steamed pork tenderloin
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup the liquid from the cornstarch
Sprinkle steamer rack with soy sauce, oil, cornstarch, salt and pepper. Place steamer rack in the oven, and set steamer rack on broiler setting.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown pork on both sides, and drain well. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, cornstarch and onion powder. Stir over medium heat for about 10 minutes, until thickened. Stir steamer rack into oven, and cook for another 15 to 20 minutes, until pork is tender. Transfer pork to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Transfer steamer rack to oven, and place on broiler rack. Broil for 20 minutes, turning every 15 minutes. Remove rack from oven, and allow rack to cool completely. Roll steamer rack into a 10 inch log, and place steamer rack on top of log. Place steamer rack in oven and allow rack to cool completely.
Transfer pork to baking dish. Mix soy sauce, cornstarch, onion powder, and soy sauce mixture in a medium bowl. Spread sauce over steamer rack. Broil steak for about 15 minutes, turning once, and stirring occasionally, until meat is pink, and juices run clear.
