Chocolate Heart Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 eggs

2/3 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon almond extract

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup butter flavored shortening

6 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1/2 cup cocoa powder

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.

In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and flour. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the sugar mixture. Combine the flour, white sugar and shortening; mix into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the cookie sheets.

Bake for 8 to 9 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly browned. Allow to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing from cookie sheets to wire racks.

Place cookies 2 inches apart on the cookie sheets. Brush with the butter flavored shortening. Spread peanut butter frosting evenly over the cookies.

really good. i did change some things, added more orange zest and some crushed red pepper flakes. had some roasted red peppers last night as well. this was so good and easy but if you want some subtle flavor don't beat it up and keep it cool. its a great starter recipe!! definately need to find more chiles but Im good with most. let me know what you think. best of chile
