1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 large head garlic, chopped
1/2 cup fresh mushrooms
1/2 small onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
8 ounces feta cheese, cubed
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (4 ounce) can tuna, drained and flaked
In a medium sauce pan, combine water, butter, olive oil, garlic, mushrooms, onion, salt and basil. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes, until tender.
Meanwhile, preheat oven broiler.
In a large bowl, mix together the tuna, cream cheese, eggs, salt and pepper. Transfer to a 9x13 inch baking dish and sprinkle with bacon bits and feta. Toss.
Bake in preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
