1 (1 pound) loaf French bread
1 egg, beaten
6 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup margarine, softened
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup grated Cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking dish.
Dry the bread in the oven, for 1 hour or until lightly crumbly. While still warm, gently stir in the egg and milk. Heat until grease is reduced.
Place crumbled muffin mix in the baking dish and press down down lightly. In a medium bowl, whisk together the dough, margarine, Parmesan, Cheddar and Cheddar cheeses until well blended.
Divide dough in two portions, wrap in parchment paper and slice
Pour batter into prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Cool on rack before serving.
