5 cups apples, cored and chopped
1 cup white sugar
1 pinch salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter, melted
3 cups white sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, combine sugar, salt and cinnamon. Beat in melted butter and sugar mixture. Stir in the apple mixture. Pour into pie shell and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
In a small bowl, stir together 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup sugar until smooth.
Pour mixture into crust and bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes.
