1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 (9 inch) spreadable cake floor
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) pans. Sift together the flour and baking powder. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and baking soda until light and fluffy. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until incorporated. Stir in the pecans. Pour into prepared pans.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
